Ineffable, perhaps, but also incomprehensible?

The great Msgr Wadsworth, (what exactly is a member of the Papal Household? Does he have to help with the dishes?;o)) delivered a fine address last night here at the Colloquium. No new ground for me, but well thought out, measured, thoughful, and he even gently quashed a suggestion for spiking the ball.

He, as one would expect, lauded the new translation.

On the other hand, we have the continuing threnody, "Oh no, people will have to THINK!!!!! We can't do THAT!!!!!!

According to PrayTell, a dean in Australia, (where the new translation is being implemented,) sent all the preists in his deanery a prayer that had inadvertantly been omitted from the new Missal, accompanied by this email message:

Dear all,

Please find attached the Preface for this coming Sunday – it is not in the interim missals we are working with.

Not that anyone’s going to understand it, mind you.

THAT'S what he believes no one will understand?

Such a low opinion of his priests, of the people....
